Multi-time world champion Randy Orton made his NXT in-ring return this week after a decade and collided with Je'Von Evans. They botched a big spot during the bout, which could've been catastrophic.

This was The Viper's first match in the developmental brand since 2013, where he took on former WWE star Damian Sandow. This week's episode of NXT took place in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, and he competed in the main event.

Randy Orton slammed The Young OG on the announce table multiple times during the bout. Je'Von Evans took down the multi-time world champion with a springboard clothesline and hit a series of strikes. He then nailed Orton with a rolling heel kick and got a two-count.

Je'Von Evans tried to go for a springboard cutter but Randy Orton caught him and planted him with a powerslam. He then hit the draping DDT and was about to perform the RKO but Evans rocked him with a superkick. Je'Von Evans spiked The Apex Predator with a big cutter for a nearfall.

He tried to hit another cutter off the top rope and Randy tried to counter it with an RKO but failed to catch him, a rare mistake on the veteran's part. The young WWE star almost landed on his head and suffered an injury. The spot, which could have been a visual spectacle, ended up becoming a botch. However, Evans escaped unscathed.

Check out the clip below:

Orton lifted Je'Von Evans and hit him with an RKO. He then pinned him and won the match.

The duo later shared a heartfelt moment with Evans apologizing for the botch.
