Randy Orton returns to WWE SmackDown after huge title match; last-minute appearance sees mystery star attacked

Randy Orton made his return to WWE SmackDown tonight. A mystery star was attacked due to The Viper unexpectedly showing up.

Kevin Owens has been feuding with A-Town Down Under for quite a while now. This feud has resulted in some funny and unpredictable moments like when Owens punched both Austin Theory and Grayson Waller at the same time or when he won a Triple Threat match against them last week.

However, A-Town Down Under is persistent enough that they kept coming back for more. Tonight, Kevin Owens was set to team up with a mystery partner to face the former World Tag Team Champions. This mystery partner was an unknown guy named Ricky. Before the match began, Owens got on the mic and said that his first-choice partner couldn't make it so he was teaming with Ricky. However, a production crew member quickly informed Owens that his partner had just arrived.

As a result, Owens stunned Ricky in the ring. Randy Orton's music then played and he came out. As expected, The Viper and The Prizefighter continued their winning ways against A-Town Down Under as they picked up the win without much effort.

This was Orton's first appearance on the blue brand after losing his title match against Gunther at WWE Bash in Berlin. It remains to be seen how the partnership between the two stalwarts will shape up.
