It took some convincing, but Randy Orton was ultimately granted a match against Kevin Owens at Crown Jewel by WWE CCO Triple H. In an unexpected turn of events, the match did not happen at the event.
Instead, Orton and Owens brawled straight off the bat before the official rang the bell. The Prizefighter kicked off the controversy by hitting The Viper with a chair, followed by a Stunner on the referee. The 14-time World Champion managed to turn the tides eventually, snatching the chair and knocking Kevin Owens with it.
Former WWE Superstar Shawn Daivari, who is now a producer, rushed to the ring and took away the chair from Randy Orton before the latter could inflict further damage. Orton attacked Daivari with an RKO. This led to RAW and SmackDown general managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis to intervene. However, this also did not stop The Legend Killer. Randy Orton hit an RKO on Adam Pearce, which could very well lead to him getting suspended.
Attacking a General Manager has always had major repercussions and things likely won't be different for the 14-time world champion.
However, following the attack on Pearce, Nick Aldis subsequently got out of the ring, followed by Orton. The veteran then continued to brawl with Owens through the crowd. He ended up on the receiving end of an elbow drop by The Prizefighter from a significant height.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Orton and Owens.
