Randy Orton came back from a career-threatening injury last year. The upcoming Survivor Series: WarGames will mark the first anniversary of his return. Backstage analyst Sam Roberts thinks WWE could write The Viper off TV for the forthcoming premium live event on November 30.
The 44-year-old superstar was in action this past Saturday at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, where he was supposed to face his friend-turned-rival Kevin Owens. However, the match never officially took place as both men brawled in and out of the ring, prompting the officials and General Managers of both brands to come out and stop them.
The scuffle ended when The Prizefighter jumped off the stands and delivered an elbow drop to The Legend Killer, crashing down through the table. Randy Orton left the arena on a stretcher, leaving fans wondering what's next for him.
Speaking on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts said Kevin Owens could be next in line for Cody Rhodes if Randy Orton is written off TV due to a storyline injury.
Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
"In terms of what Cody Rhodes has next? That is a good question. Randy Orton and Kevin Owens are preoccupied right now unless [Randy] Orton is written off TV, and we're going to Kevin Owens vs. Cody Rhodes at Survivor Series," Roberts said. [From 1:01: 41 to 1:01: 54]

Kevin Owens breaks silence after brawling with Randy Orton at WWE Crown Jewel
Kevin Owens spoke to Cathy Kelley backstage after Crown Jewel, where he shared his thoughts on Randy Orton and revealed that he may have suffered broken ribs.
"I never wanted any of this. I never even wanted this match. The match didn't really happen, did it? But that's okay. To see Randy walk out, no, 'cause he didn't walk out, he was wheeled out. You know what we did? We walked out of that accident we were in, so [Randy] Orton feels even worse than he did after, feels worse than I do now. I think I broke my ribs, but I walked out. Yeah, I got what I wanted," Owens said.
There's no word on The Viper's condition after the brutal table spot. Meanwhile, Kevin Owens could set his sights on winning the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes at Survivor Series: WarGames, which takes place in his home country of Canada.
