Randy Orton is considered one of the greatest WWE superstars ever but could have been the G.O.A.T. if he fulfilled his potential. A three-time WWE champion believes Orton "wasted a lot of potential" early in his career.

The Viper is scheduled to face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at the WWE Bash in Berlin PLE. Things began to get physical last Monday when Orton hit an RKO out of nowhere to The Ring General.

In an interview with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion praised the No. 1 contender for all the things he accomplished in his career. The three-time WWE champion was also critical of the 14-time WWE World Champion's failure to reach his potential.

"Randy's career is undeniable. But on the other hand, we've got to be honest here, he was destined to be the greatest of all time, and with all the bad decisions he made in his career and all the issues he had he still is one of the greatest. But he wasted a lot of potential and I'm not in the business of wasting potential," Gunther said. [H/T: SEScoops]

Randy Orton ran into plenty of trouble early in his career that might be seen as problematic in today's social climate. Nevertheless, Orton matured and has turned into one of the best veterans in WWE's locker room over the past few years.

Randy Orton auditioned for popular character in 'Deadpool 2'

Before WWE superstars began signing with top talent agencies for potential projects outside of pro wrestling, Randy Orton tried his hand in Hollywood. Orton shared on What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes that he auditioned for the Cable character in Deadpool 2.

"I do auditions here and there. I remember I got an audition early on when I finally got some representation in that industry. I think 'Deadpool 2?' Cable. I read for Cable and in my head, boy, 'I was gonna be Cable. I was gonna be Cable.' And I was like, 'This is it.'" Nope, no callback. No nothing. Yeah, thanks. Josh Brolin gets it. Of course, Josh Brolin gets it, kills it," Orton said. [From 34:15 - 34:47]
