Raquel Rodriguez pens heartbreaking health update ahead of WWE RAW

WWE Superstar Raquel Rodriguez has had a rollercoaster of a ride in 2024, but it all happened behind the scenes. She was diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome, which kept her out of action for seven months.

In October, she resumed work, now acting as her former tag team partner, Liv Morgan's muscle. During her time away, Morgan rose to superstardom and in the process, captured the Women's World Championship.

Taking to Instagram, Raquel Rodriguez penned a note to the WWE Universe, reflecting on her time away from the ring. It was a low point for her, and she assured that the "sad, soft girl" seen in the video she shared along with the note would not be seen again.

❝ A year ago today I sat in the ER with mom trying to lighten the mood with some TikTok’s… nothing could distract me from the looks I got, from the discomfort I was in and from getting poked💉💉 in the forearm which I do not recommend!!! I was told many things but never had a positive blood test to confirm if it was MCAS or another auto immune disease other than eczema."

❝ From all the doctors, healers and treatments I’ve gone through I’ve concluded that this happened because I was too much of a people pleaser, a pushover, too nice. Too kind to leave toxic environments, too nice to say no when I was having anxiety or panic attacks or in uncomfortable situations but didn’t know what I was feeling. I just shoved those feelings down deep inside and put a big smile on every day like the delusional girl I was."

❝ Dealing with mental health is very important, I learned the hard way that the more you don’t address it the more your body will start to show you something unlearning habits takes time. It takes patience with yourself because this new mindset feels foreign to the one you grew up knowing. Looking back at this video and pictures I’m reminded that this round is for me. It’s time to be chingona, cabrona, y ruda… la más ruda".

Plans for a Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez program on WWE RAW

It appears Raquel Rodriguez and Rhea Ripley were set to work a program in late October after Rodriguez returned to the ring. However, Ripley wound up getting injured. Meanwhile, IYO SKY became the new number one contender to Women's World Champion Liv Morgan.

But Rhea Ripley pulled off a John Cena-esque recovery and returned to the ring in about a month. At Survivor Series: WarGames, Ripley and IYO SKY worked together inside WarGames to defeat their rivals. As per a new report, WWE creative is moving forward with the previously planned program between the former Judgment Day star and Raquel Rodriguez.
