The day of Sika Anoa'i's burial was the same day that Jey Uso would try to climb the ladder in Toronto to become Mr. Money in the Bank. At the beginning of the match, it was revealed why Jey missed his uncle's funeral.

As you probably know, Roman Reigns' father Sika Anoa'i passed away on June 29, 2024. He was one of the seniors of the Anoa'i family and among the biggest reasons for the success of the Samoan Wrestling Dynasty.

At Money in the Bank 2024, Michael Cole revealed that 6 July was also the burial date of Jey Uso's uncle Sika Anoa'i. However, Jey felt that Sika would have wanted him to participate in the match and win the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Unfortunately for Jey, that didn't materialize and he was close to capturing the briefcase, only for Drew McIntyre to smash his body with a ladder and go on to claim the briefcase for himself.

Jey was the sentimental favorite of the match along with LA Knight and had one of the most amazing entrances of his career through the crowd. He has well and truly adopted the Fireflies.

What lies next for Jey Uso? We'll see in the coming weeks.
