WWE News: Reason why Nikki Bella didn't compete at Survivor Series

‘The Fearless’ Nikki Bella was taken out of Survivor Series by a mystery attacker

Nikki Bella being removed from the Team Smackdown Live vs. Team Raw 5-on-5 Women's Elimination match certainly came as a surprise to many. It has now been revealed, courtesy of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that she wasn't taken out of the match due to an injury or due to other real-life issues, but that it was a part of the storyline.

It was previously being speculated that Nikki Bella had been on the receiving end of an injury that had rendered her unable to compete at Survivor Series, and that this was WWE's way of writing her off for the night. Now we know, however, that those speculations weren't true at all.

Here’s a video of the incident:

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Nikki being pulled out of the match was a part of her extended storyline, with the angle having being planned weeks in advance. It has also been revealed that the WWE are trying to direct the blame for Nikki being taken out on two possible suspects, namely Carmella and/or Natalya.

The ‘Fearless’ Nikki was seen on this week’s edition of Smackdown Live, directing the blame for the attack towards Carmella. Carmella has posted some cryptic tweets on her Twitter account as well, signalling that she might actually have been responsible for the vicious attack.

The identity of the attacker hasn't been revealed yet and is still up for speculation.

Could it have been Carmella continuing her rivalry with Nikki? Could it have been Natalya wanting a spot on the team? Or could it have been Becky Lynch not approving of Bella's position as the captain of the team?

We won’t say anything about the possibility of Becky being the attacker except that Nikki Bella was last seen hanging out with Becky Lynch on Survivor Series night, make of it what you will:

It is unclear as of this moment where the WWE are planning on going with this. But it certainly makes things interesting for the women's division on Smackdown!
