CM Punk returned to Chicago for the first time since his comeback to WWE at Survivor Series: War Games last year. The Second City Saint received a huge ovation, but a wrestling veteran was a little "nervous" during the former's entrance.

In a recent episode of The Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette and Brian Last discussed Punk's return to Chicago in last week's episode of SmackDown. Cornette expressed concern about the former WWE Champion greeting fans and walking on the railings during his entrance.

"Here comes CM Punk, the big entrance; he jogged around the ring a couple times. The hugs, the handshakes. He made me a little nervous when he was climbing around on the rail. I watch your feet, and they're chanting; they're screaming and blah blah blah. I think everybody knows that things worked out for the best," he said. [1:41-2:09]

Jim Cornette also took a subtle shot at AEW using CM Punk's theme song

During the same episode of The Jim Cornette Experience, the veteran sang CM Punk's theme song, Cult of Personality by the Living Color. Cornette sang the "Like Mussolini" line while taking a shot at AEW's dwindling ratings last week.

Cornette's comments alluded to The Big Bang Theory being the lead-in show before AEW Dynamite. With Dynamite garnering an abysmal 502,000 rating last week in the absence of the legendary comedy show, it has become an inside joke that AEW is getting some help from Sheldon Cooper and the rest of his friends.

"They sold out almost 15,000 people, and as soon as they set the stage with the Drew McIntyre situation, it's Chicago, and we hear, 'Like Mussolini, don't need the Big Bang Theory,' because he's a lead in all his own," Cornette said. [1:18-1:40 in the video above]

Meanwhile, Punk's return to Chicago proved to be an anti-climax, as The Best in The World was at the receiving end of a brutal attack from Drew McIntyre. It will be interesting to see when The Straight Edge Superstar returns to WWE TV.
