A star who recently returned to WWE television disclosed that knocking Vince McMahon out was the greatest thing he had ever done. The star in question appeared on the September 9 edition of RAW.

WWE legend Bret "The Hitman" Hart was interviewed on the "Mr. McMahon" docuseries on Netflix and spoke glowingly about punching his former boss in the face. The incident occurred following the Montreal Screwjob at WWE Survivor Series 1997. Hart claimed that the story that McMahon gave him a free shot at him was not true and that the two scuffled a bit before he knocked him out.

"There was no like, 'Vince is going to give me a shot.' Like, I don't where they get that story, because that is such a bunch of bulls***. It was Vince and me came at each other, and we actually tied up like a wrestling match. Everybody's ready to pounce on me as soon as we grab each other. I remember going, the only way I can get a shot in, one shot, maybe, is an uppercut, and I came right up between Vince's arms, and it was like, you know when you hit the bell [at carnivals] when the thing goes up. He was out cold, like a starfish. It was probably the best thing I ever did. He deserved every bit of that," he said. [H/T: Fightful]

Former WWE writer reacts to Gunther's shot at Bret Hart on RAW

Vince Russo recently reacted to Gunther claiming Goldberg was his favorite wrestler during Bret Hart's return to WWE RAW.

Hart still has not forgiven Goldberg for kicking him in the head at WCW Starrcade 1999 and causing a concussion. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, Russo shared that he loved the comment from The Ring General, but has no interest in the World Heavyweight Champion's rivalry with Sami Zayn.

"We had Bret Hart get a nice pop which is great. That’s good for Bret to get all his dessert. But when Gunther said his favorite wrestler was Goldberg, that popped me. I loved it. Then the Sami thing is like, oh bro, please stop with this guy for crying out loud." [From 1:06:18 onwards]

Vince McMahon shared a rare statement ahead of the release of the docuseries asking fans to "keep an open mind", and that there were two sides to every story. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 79-year-old moving forward.
