This week’s episode of RAW saw Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, and another former World Champion being asked to steer clear of a major title match. A record-breaking champion asked the antithesis of The Judgment Day to keep away to extend his record before the group registers a huge milestone. The man in question is Xavier Woods, who spoke to The Uce and The Terror Twins.
The New Day will face The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for the World Tag Team Championship on this week’s red-branded show. Notably, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have held the main roster tag titles a record 11 times and have also won the NXT tag titles once.
Ahead of the match, Woods met Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, and Jey Uso and told them that this match meant a lot to him. He acknowledged the heat between them and The Judgment Day but requested them not to interfere in the title match. While The Punisher agreed to the request, he asked Woods to hit the titleholders hard for him.
If The New Day manages to win tonight, then they won’t just extend their record but also stand a chance to wield the belts when they complete their 10-year anniversary in November 2024. It would be interesting to see if Woods and Kingston will be able to hold their own against the foul tactics of The Judgment Day without the help of Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, and Damian Priest.
