A former WWE Superstar has captured his first-ever major title since being released by the Stamford-based promotion. The name in question is none other than Raj Dhesi (fka Jinder Mahal).
The Modern Day Maharaja had an eventful 12-year career in WWE. During that time he captured the WWE Championship and even won the United States Title at WrestleMania. In April 2024, due to budget cuts, Mahal was let go by the Stamford-based promotion.
The 38-year-old officially hit the free agency market on July 18 as his non-compete clause with World Wrestling Entertainment expired. Raj Dhesi made his Black Label Pro debut at the Old Habits Die Screaming show on July 26, Friday. He defeated Dominic Garrini for the BLP Heavyweight Championship.

Jinder Mahal's initial opponent, Kevin Ku, was unable to compete, so he picked his teammate, Garrini, to fight in his place to protect the championship. However, The Maharaja defeated Garrini and secured his first title after being released from the global juggernaut.

The former United States Champion had a massive segment with The Rock on the Day 1 edition of Monday Night RAW. Mahal also competed for the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins on the Road to WrestleMania XL.
Raj Dhesi recently took to TikTok and debunked the claims which stated that WWE dropped the ball on him. The Maharaja expressed satisfaction with his time in the Stamford-based promotion, highlighting the financial stability it provided.
"It’s given me a sense of financial independence where, now, I can just do whatever I wanna do. Freedom, flexibility, got to travel the world, build amazing relationships, a lot of good memories. And it’s gonna continue now on the independents, just doing things my way. So WWE did not drop the ball. I had a great career, a great time, and, yeah, thank you for all the fans tuning in for all these years," he said.
It will be exciting to see what other titles Mahal will win outside of the Global Wrestling Juggernaut.
