At Clash at the Castle 2022, Dominik betrayed Edge and his father, Rey, leading to him joining The Judgment Day. Leading up to the SummerSlam Premium Live Event, Dominik had reconciled with Ripley. However, at SummerSlam, the former NXT North American Champion betrayed Mami and helped Liv Morgan retain the Women's World Championship.
Following Dominik's betrayal of Rhea Ripley, Rey Mysterio reacted to his son's controversial actions. On Instagram, he sent a message to the 27-year-old. The Hall of Famer stated that his son was a master at betraying people. He also quoted something he said and reiterated it as a message to his son, saying that Dominik was great at turning his back on those who care most.

After WrestleMania XL, Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate the title due to a shoulder injury. The injury was caused during a brawl with Morgan.
This eventually led to Morgan winning the title at the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event. Since winning the title, Morgan has successfully defended it against Becky Lynch, Zelina Vega, and now against Ripley. It remains to be seen which direction Ripley is headed for after failing to regain the title she never lost in the first place.
