Wrestling icon Ric Flair has praised a surprising WWE RAW star today on social media. The Nature Boy recently wrapped up his tenure in All Elite Wrestling.
The Miz was named as the host for WWE SummerSlam this Saturday night in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Ric Flair took to Instagram today to praise the veteran and referred to him as "The King of Entertainment" in his message. You can check out Flair's post on Instagram by clicking here.
"Congratulations to you @Mikethemiz because you have become second only to @johncena in representing the greatest sport we love, and that's professional wrestling. I'm so sorry that people bullied you and tried to kill your success in the business. You've accomplished everything, and I'm so proud to be your friend. I've got you brother! I'm The Nature Boy Ric Flair. F*** the people have given you any s***. You are currently The King of Entertainment as you always have been! Hope to see you soon! Woooo!" he wrote.
The Miz responded to Ric Flair's kind words and admitted that he was speechless.
Fans drowned out a popular wrestler with 'She's a racist' chants recently
"I'm speechless. Doesn't happen often. Thank you Ric," he responded.
R-Truth and The Miz (Awesome Truth) captured the World Tag Team Championship at WWE WrestleMania XL. However, the duo were dethroned by The Judgment Day on the June 24 edition of WWE RAW thanks to interference by Liv Morgan.
Former WWE manager comments on Ric Flair's exit from AEW
WWE veteran Dutch Mantell recently shared his thoughts on Ric Flair's time in All Elite Wrestling coming to an end.
Ric Flair had a short stint in AEW to help promote his Wooooo! Energy drink but he is no longer with the promotion. Speaking on a recent edition of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the veteran noted AEW likely wasn't getting a return on their investment and decided to part ways.
"I think the drink company is collapsing. How much competition do they have in the drink business? (it's saturated) So, I think they think it's not doing a bit of good. (They thought) We're throwing good money, and it's doing bad. So they thought 'We're going to dump it' and they dumped it. And Ric Flair is along with the dump. That's what I figured. If you don't see their ads on the screens, or on the billboards, I think it's pretty well over for Ric," said Mantell. [From 12:56 to 13:38]
