Rikishi looks forward to meeting major WWE star who beat Jey Uso multiple times

Jey Uso is enjoying white-hot popularity with the WWE Universe right now. The Yeet Master gets big cheers and responses from the crowd each time he makes his entrance and wins his matches. However, The Uce hasn’t scored any big wins despite such prominent backing from the fans. Recently, Rikishi said that he would like to meet a major star who has already beaten Jey multiple times. The man in question is none other than Gunther.

The King General has defeated Mr. Yeet in the King of the Ring Tournament and during a title defense as the Intercontinental Champion. The Imperium leader recently secured the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Damian Priest at SummerSlam.

Following this, he successfully defeated Randy Orton in his first title defense at Bash in Berlin. However, speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi couldn’t believe that Gunther had bested The Viper. Taking his win over The Apex Predator in context, the WWE Hall of Famer talked about the King of the Ring's potential as a main-event talent.

“Gunther has that Ludwig Borga type of heat. You guys remember Ludwig Borga? Remember Boris Zhukov? Of course. One of the Bolsheviks. Right? Okay. So we're going kind of that route, right? And the guy can talk. He can talk and he's a good worker, right? And so putting him in with the right people, I think he can draw some money with the company. You know, and if, I'll tell you a story right there. You know, Randy, you know, he beat Randy in the pay-per-view in Berlin. Sounds to me like the company got a big plan for him. And you know, I look forward to meeting this guy,” said Rikishi. [28:52 - 29:40]

While one Hall of Famer is praising Gunther, the World Heavyweight Champion recently insulted another Hall of Famer on this week’s Monday Night RAW.

Gunther insults WWE legend Bret Hart in Canada

This week’s episode of RAW saw the promotion hold its show in Calgary, Alberta. WWE had invited Canada’s most beloved wrestler, Bret Hart for an in-ring segment. However, Gunther interrupted his address to fans and entered the ring while seemingly praising the hometown hero.

However, he later smirked and said that despite all that praise, The Hitman was his second-favorite wrestler after Bill Goldberg. This was a below-the-belt blow move from The King General, considering Hart has real-life issues with Goldberg.

Following this disrespect, Sami Zayn entered the arena to remind Gunther who he was speaking to. The Canadian superstar also challenged the champion’s bravado and asked him to put his title on the line against him once again. Gunther rejected Zayn’s challenge once again, but this time, Zayn attacked him.

It would be interesting to see if the two wrestlers get in the ring once again to fight for another title.
