WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi recently discussed the potential booking scenario for his nephew, Jacob Fatu. The 279-pound star has been signed with the Stamford-based promotion since WrestleMania 40 weekend.
With Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa joining the Solo Sikoa-led Bloodline, fans have wondered when Jacob Fatu will arrive on the main roster and whose side he will be on. The Enforcer has taken over the reins of The Bloodline since Roman Reigns lost his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at The Showcase of The Immortals earlier this year.
Solo Sikoa recently claimed that he had spoken to The Tribal Chief, and the latter told his cousin to call the shots in his absence. Meanwhile, Paul Heyman hasn't held talks with Roman Reigns, fueling speculation of a possible conspiracy within the group.
Speaking on the Rikishi Fatu Off The Top podcast, the Samoan legend explained why he sees Jacob Fatu going solo (no pun intended) instead of joining The Bloodline instantly.
"I kind of see Jacob [Fatu] coming in alone. I see Jacob be at Smackdown or RAW just coming back into that old TV match, three minutes annihilating people. You know, just go to RAW, three minutes annihilating people. So he's not really with a brand because if he stays stuck in the brands, and they announced that he's with RAW, now you kind of already, 'Okay, when is he going to go with Jey?' But if he's committed to SmackDown, fans are going to say, 'Oh, when is he gonna go with The Bloodline?' So he needs to come in different," Rikishi said.
The WWE Hall of Famer said he would eventually like to see Jacob Fatu involved with The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Solo Sikoa when the time is right:
"I would love to see Jacob run through the top talent roster on both sides and then finally, when the time is right, he would be involved into The Bloodline, meaning going up against The Rock, Roman Reigns, or Solo Sikoa. You got to give that match. In order for people to get the best out of Jacob, my feelings are that Jacob needs to dance with family members.'' (18:42 - 20:07)
Rikishi is open to becoming Jacob Fatu's manager in WWE
Jacob Fatu has repeatedly shown that he can cut promos for himself. But former WWE personality Jim Cornette entertained the idea of stepping out of retirement to manage The Anoaʻi family star.
Rikishi, however, is against the idea, as he thinks he would be better off managing his nephew than someone who's not associated with the family.
''Absolutely not! Listen, Jacob doesn't need a manager. And if anybody would be a manager, you're probably looking at the guy that will walk out Jacob," said Rikishi.
Recent reports have suggested that some people within WWE fear Fatu would outshine Sikoa, which is probably why the company is delaying his debut.
