Roman Reigns continues to set records despite absence from WWE SmackDown

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns continues to make history as his new theme song recently did unprecedented numbers in the U.K. The OTC recently returned to WWE television at SummerSlam following his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL.

Reigns showed up at The Biggest Party of the Summer to attack his former stablemate Solo Sikoa during a championship match against The American Nightmare. The 39-year-old followed it up by taking out the faction led by Solo Sikoa on August 9. However, the former Shield member was brutally attacked by the new Bloodline the following week.

After getting assaulted by the heel faction, Roman Reigns was absent from SmackDown last week. Despite his absence, however, the song used as his new entrance theme became the global juggernaut's first-ever hit song in the U.K. As per Forbes, the single WWE - I Am Greatness (Roman Reigns), launched by a group named Def Rebel, opened at No. 83 on the list of the most downloaded tunes and ranked No. 88 when it came to all forms of purchases of individual cuts in the country.

Former WWE Superstar claims he can beat Roman Reigns in a real fight

Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle, who allwgedly had real-life heat with Roman Reigns, made a bold claim about the star in a recent interview.

While speaking with the New York Post, the 38-year-old claimed he could beat Roman Reigns in a real-life fight. Riddle explained why there was heat between the two back in the day while pointing out that they are now on good terms.

"This isn't a flex. This is the truth. If I didn't think I could, I wouldn't say it. You don't hear me saying I can beat up Bobby Lashley, you know, maybe on a good day. Or a Brock Lesnar, maybe on a good day. I think when he saw how professional I am in the ring, and I also explained why things were said, and I wasn't just trying to call you out. I know my place in WWE, but when someone tells me to cut a promo on you, I'm gonna cut a promo on you. I think he understood that. Still wasn't happy about it, but understood. Matt Riddle returned to the independent circuit following his WWE release in September 2023. The Original Bro is currently the AAA Cruiserweight Champion. It remains to be seen if he will ever return to the Stamford-based wrestling promotion.
