Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE TV since his loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. Although many expect him to return at SummerSlam to confront Solo Sikoa and the new version of The Bloodline, a wrestling veteran suggested an unexpected scenario that would give the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion a chance to take another break following The Biggest Party of The Summer.
In Reigns' absence, Sikoa took over The Bloodline, adding Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu to the faction. Meanwhile, he and his associates kicked out Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman. As the former Enforcer declared himself the new Tribal Chief, he claimed Reigns would have to acknowledge him if The Big Dog ever returned to WWE.
During a recent episode of the Gigantic Pop podcast, wrestling veteran Matt Morgan proposed that Reigns could return at The Biggest Party of the Summer, only to get injured at the hands of The Bloodline.
He claimed that The Head of The Table would have the opportunity to go away for a few more months. Meanwhile, the TNA legend pointed out that that scenario would leave the fans fuming.
"If you're booking, Glenn, do you bring Roman back, get everybody all excited, but they injure him? The Bloodline injures him? So, now he can be out another couple of months. How pi**ed would the fans be, dude?" he said. [15:12 - 15:26]
An unexpected WWE star could save Roman Reigns from a Bloodline beatdown, says veteran
On the Busted Open podcast, wrestling veteran Tommy Dreamer discussed the possible scenarios for Roman Reigns' anticipated comeback. The ECW legend claimed that The Big Dog could get beaten up by The Bloodline upon his return. However, his rival, Cody Rhodes, could unexpectedly come to his aid.
The veteran suggested that DIY could also join forces with The American Nightmare and the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Notably, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were taken out by Jacob Fatu on last week's SmackDown.
"If you think right off the bat, what if Cody goes to Randy? Like, if Roman gets his a** beat, even though Roman is the guy, Roman is getting his a** beat by four guys, and Cody makes the save that helps elevate Cody because he helped Roman. What if Randy says, 'I'm not gonna help that guy. That guy [Roman Reigns] put me on the shelf. I'm not gonna be here to support that guy. I'm here to have your [Cody] back, but not his.' And then, you also think about elevating people: DIY, Cody, and Roman in a nice little feud with The Bloodline," he said.
Dreamer stated that the proposed alliance would eventually fracture, leading to The Usos rejoining forces with the former Shield member. It would be interesting to see how The Bloodline saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
