What's the story?
As reported by Wrestling Inc, former WWE Champion and Shield member Roman Reigns has revealed backstage details regarding his WrestleMania 31 main event match against Brock Lesnar. Reigns spoke about the bout during his appearance on Chris Jericho's 'Talk Is Jericho' podcast.
In case you didn't know...
Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar at Levi's Stadium was the main event match of WrestleMania 31.

The match had the reigning WWE World Heavyweight champion Lesnar defending his title against Roman Reigns, who had won the Royal Rumble earlier. Seth Rollins ended up cashing in his Money In The Bank contract during the match and pinned Reigns to win the title.
The heart of the matter
During the podcast, Roman Reigns spoke about his match against Brock Lesnar and talked about how even though he wasn’t scared going into the match, things were “weird”. Roman was quoted as saying:
"No, it wasn't easy, by any means. But the thing I had a lot of confidence in is I knew it was just going to be a fight. I knew it was going to be brutal and I like that s--t.
Like, hey, if you want to bang, I'm all for it. I'm never scared. But it was just weird. It really was. It was last minute.
It was one of those deals where it wasn't a lot of talking, didn't seem open to ideas because, essentially, in their minds, and when I say 'their minds' I say Brock and Paul, which, that is a powerful pairing right there."
Reigns further spoke about how Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar wanted to “kill” him in the match.
“But those two, they're something else. They wanted to kill me. They were convinced however many people were there eighty [thousand], whatever, they wanted to see me get crushed.
They were there and they just want to see Roman get his ass beat. And I can't disagree with them, but brother [has] got to fight. Hey, you can kick my ass all you want, but I'm going to fight."
What's next?
It's doubtful that Reigns will be reprimanded for any of these comments, especially when you consider that he was thrust right back into the main event picture following his 30-day suspension last summer.

With the rumour mill suggesting that Reigns will face Lesnar at WrestleMania 34, it wouldn't be surprising to see The Big Dog retire The Beast Incarnate at the showcase of the immortals.
Author's take
It's surprising to hear Reigns speak so openly about this, and it continues to be a bit surreal whenever WWE Superstars go on Jericho's podcast and air their dirty laundry.
To this day, it doesn't seem as if any of them have been punished, but I think that this time around these comments could potentially cause Vince to alter his plans leading into next year's big event in New Orleans.
