Roman Reigns will return to WWE SmackDown this Friday after over four months of absence. Wrestling veteran Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English) believes the 39-year-old will confront a massive superstar.

The superstar in question is none other than Cody Rhodes. After The American Nightmare beat The Head of the Table at WrestleMania XL to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship, the latter went on hiatus for several months. However, he returned last Saturday at SummerSlam to take out his cousin, Solo Sikoa, who has seemingly betrayed him and took over The Bloodline in his absence. Reigns' interference helped Rhodes defeat Sikoa and retain his title.

Speaking on the Rebooked podcast, wrestling veteran Rehwoldt predicted that Reigns would confront the current champion on SmackDown. The current TNA color commentator stated that The OTC could explain to Rhodes that he did not attack Sikoa to help him. Instead, he was handling his business. Meanwhile, Rehwoldt claimed The Head of the Table could warn The American Nightmare that he would go after the championship again when the time is right:

"I think Friday night, you have Roman/Cody promo segment. You have those two talking out like, 'We're not high-fiving,' like, 'I respect you.' No, but I think it's like, 'I think you have room to explain.' 'I didn't do what I did for you.' You know what I mean? 'I gotta handle my business. I gotta handle my family,' kinda thing, 'I'm coming back for that, motherf***er, when the time is right. I gotta handle family business first though. So, hold on tight to that f***ing title,'" he said. [From 01:13:00 to 01:13:30]

Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes III could happen in January, says ex-WWE host

While Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39, he lost to The American Nightmare at this year's Show of Shows. Former WWE host Matt Camp believes a third match between the two superstars will surely happen.

Speaking on his The Wrestling Matt podcast, Camp claimed that The American Nightmare and The Head of the Table could square off for the third time on the first episode of RAW on Netflix in January:

"I don't know how long they wanna wait on Cody and Roman. Let me throw this out here, you know they wanna make a splash for Netflix, you know it, as they should. (...) That first episode on Netflix is gonna be loaded up. Do we see Cody [vs.] Roman on that? Do we see Cody [vs.] Rock on that? I think it's absolutely in play. Absolutely in play. I think we're getting a massive match," he said.

Instead of Reigns and Rhodes continuing to be enemies, wrestling veteran Francine suggested the two could team up with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton to fight Solo Sikoa's Bloodline at Survivor Series. It would be interesting to see what kind of a relationship The Head of the Table will have with The American Nightmare after his WWE comeback.
