Fans at WWE SummerSlam got a massive surprise when Roman Reigns returned to the company after a four-month hiatus. According to a veteran, his comeback did not have any real showmanship, which ironically resulted in a better spot.
The Tribal Chief's return saw him immediately target Solo Sikoa. Sikoa remained shocked throughout as Reigns took him down with his signature moves, inadvertently helping Cody Rhodes take the win and retain his title. Despite the explosive WWE comeback, the spot had minimal fanfare, according to veteran journalist Bill Apter.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter stated:
"The reaction was so fabulous to him. One of the things that was amazing was that there was no showmanship. Which was good that Roman just walked down like this. There was no (gestures fanfare), no, he just came out naturally, and that was still great." [1:20 onwards]

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long also agreed with Bill Apter
The veteran journalist's opinion received support from Teddy Long, who also thought that Roman's talent ensured the segment was top-notch.
Adding to Bill Apter's comments on The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy stated that The Tribal Chief was exceptionally good at selling his every step. According to him, this guaranteed that even minimalistic spots had a major impact.
"Well, he told a story, okay? That's exactly what he did there. He told a story and he told it without a whole lot of fanfare. Because Roman Reigns is so good. He sells, I mean, that's what you do in this business. You make people believe, and Roman Reigns will make you believe, okay? That's how he came down. Ever heard of the old saying less is more? Just that simple." [2:05 onwards]
As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Roman Reigns in WWE.
