The WWE Universe is still reeling from the fact that Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will be working together as allies. According to a Hall of Famer, the revelation had prompted a strange reaction from the live fans in the arena.

After Reigns saved Cody Rhodes following the latter's Steel Cage match on SmackDown against Solo Sikoa, it became clear that an uneasy alliance would be the direction for the two top WWE stars. Considering the numbers advantage the Bloodline has, The American Nightmare will surely need all the help he can get, including from his old rival.

On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long was asked to share the the reaction of the live attendance of the show. The Hall of Famer stated:

"Basically the reaction there was maybe, now maybe this is kinda what we want... Then again, I could hear, 'Well we don't know yet.' So I think we're just gonna have to wait and see how this plays out." [10:50 onwards]

The WWE Hall of Famer had previously predicted Roman Reigns' babyface return

Even before Reigns returned to action for the first time since WrestleMania XL, Teddy Long had called for his comeback as a face.

Speaking on another episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, the WWE Hall of Famer stated:

"I like the idea, though, Mac, I think Roman, he needs to come back as a babyface. That can't be just one [appearance]. He has to get a little bit of a run out of it (...) The only way that really will become believable, and work, is you have to drop [Paul] Heyman." [8:29 onwards]

Only time will tell how the partnership between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes pans out at 2024 Bad Blood.
