Roman Reigns returned at WWE SummerSlam after being on hiatus for nearly four months. A wrestling veteran recently pointed out that the Head of the Table could go away again.
The Head of the Table attacked his cousin, Solo Sikoa, at The Biggest Party of the Summer after the latter seemingly betrayed him in his absence. Reigns' interference allowed Cody Rhodes to defeat the self-proclaimed new Tribal Chief to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. Following his return at SummerSlam, the Original Tribal Chief is set to appear on SmackDown this Friday. While addressing the 39-year-old's future, wrestling veteran Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English) claimed Reigns could take another break after his appearance on the blue brand.
Speaking on the Rebooked Wrestling podcast, Rehwoldt pointed out that the Head of the Table was a part-timer before going on hiatus following his loss at WrestleMania XL. Hence, his appearance on SmackDown this Friday could be followed by another month of absence:
"Maybe Roman comes back Friday, they've already advertised him, kinda says some ominous sh*t, and then maybe he's gone for another month. You know what I mean? He's got a plan to work out. He's not answering The Bloodline's calls right now. He's working on his own sh*t. Maybe and we don't see him again... I don't know if he's back every week or whatnot. He wasn't even every week before," he said. [From 1:14:22 - 1:14:43]
Will Roman Reigns confront Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown?
While Roman Reigns' return at SummerSlam helped Cody Rhodes beat Solo Sikoa, wrestling veteran Matthew Rehwoldt claimed a heated confrontation between the Head of the Table and The American Nightmare could happen this Friday on SmackDown.
The TNA color commentator claimed Reigns could explain to Rhodes that he did not intend to help him but to handle his business. Meanwhile, the 39-year-old could inform The American Nightmare that he would go after his title when he finishes dealing with The Bloodline:
"I think Friday night, you have Roman/Cody promo segment. You have those two talking out like, 'We're not high-fiving,' like, 'I respect you.' No, but I think it's like, 'I think you have room to explain.' 'I didn't do what I did for you.' You know what I mean? 'I gotta handle my business. I gotta handle my family,' kinda thing, 'I'm coming back for that, motherf***er, when the time is right. I gotta handle family business first though. So, hold on tight to that f***ing title,'" he said.
Former WWE host Matt Camp recently predicted that Reigns and Rhodes could square off for a third time on the premiere episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. The two superstars previously exchanged victories at WrestleMania 39 and 40. It would be interesting to see what the next step would be for the former Undisputed WWE Champion.
