Michael Cole announced what the new WWE "Transfer Window" is all about. The effects began in the opening segment of SmackDown on December 6, and it looks like it will shake things up.

Chad Gable and American Made of RAW came out on SmackDown during Cody Rhodes' opening promo, setting up a Cody vs. Gable main event despite the latter being on the red brand. This could happen because of a new policy known as the "Transfer Window." If you're a Football or soccer fan, then no, there aren't any buy-out clauses or transfer fees.

Michael Cole said after the segment that WWE is unanimously implementing a "Transfer Window" ahead of RAW on Netflix. As many changes are coming in the next month, the General Managers of RAW, SmackDown, and NXT are working together to seemingly move superstars from one brand to another.

What hasn't been clarified is whether these changes will be temporary or permanent. If we were to purely speculate, it's simply a rule that gives superstars the freedom to go from one brand to the next.

This is likely because WWE wants Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and The Bloodline in the early stages of RAW on Netflix. This rule will ensure that they can appear on the red brand, and it makes sense in the storyline.

Many will compare this to the 2019 "Wild Card Rule," which was highly unpopular and met with a bad response. Fans were relieved when the SmackDown on FOX deal kicked in, ending the Wild Card Rule and returning consistent, assigned rosters.
