Vince Russo became WCW's co-head writer alongside Ed Ferrara after leaving WWE in October 1999. The 63-year-old recently gave his take on LA Knight's backstage aura compared to legends like Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
In 1996, Hall and Nash joined WCW after several years in WWE. Known as The Outsiders, the two-time WWE Hall of Famers formed the iconic nWo faction with Hulk Hogan. They also won the WCW tag titles together six times.
On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing With Russo, Russo said Knight does not strike him as someone who agrees with everything WWE management wants. While that intimidating approach might have worked for Hall and Nash in WCW, he does not believe Knight would have the same success:
"If you're like a Kevin Nash or if you're like a Scott Hall, who is very much that way, they were not kiss-butt company guys, they weren't, but, bro, because they had that presence and persona, you weren't gonna scr*w with them," Russo stated. "As a matter of fact, bro, you were intimidated by them. LA Knight does not fall in that category." [5:59 – 6:26]

Vince Russo compares Kevin Nash and LA Knight
In the 1990s and early 2000s, Kevin Nash was among the biggest names in the wrestling industry. At almost seven feet tall, he was also one of the most imposing wrestlers in WCW and WWE.
Vince Russo reiterated that while Nash often got what he wanted backstage, those same rules will likely not apply to LA Knight:
"You can get away with that, bro, if you're a Kevin Nash and you're six-feet-12, seven-foot, whatever Kevin is, and nobody wants to F with you, and LA Knight ain't gonna get away with that, bro, so it really just depends." [6:29 – 6:44]
On August 3, Knight will challenge Logan Paul for the United States Championship at SummerSlam.
