Fan favorite WWE name Samantha Irvin recently made the announcement that she was leaving the company. This caused considerable buzz in the pro-wrestling community, which also led to legendary journalist Bill Apter commenting on the matter.
Samantha made it clear that despite her being very good at her role, she was not actually a fan of it. Over the years, she has been part of quite a few memorable spots, lending her voice to elevate the moments. Bill Apter for one has always been very impressed with her talent.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, Apter heaped praise on Samantha and stated:
"I have mentioned this on another episode that we did. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and every young lady that gets into ring announcing sounds like her (Samantha Irvin)." [6:13 onwards]

What exactly did Samantha Irvin say about her WWE role?
According to Samantha Irvin, announcing was never actually her end goal when she started working in WWE.
In an Instagram comment, Samantha explained that although she was commendable in the announcing role, she did not intend to hold that particular role the whole time. She also made it clear that she loved the action she got to see.
"I don’t like announcing, I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become a general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action, but I don’t love being an announcer,” wrote Samantha Irvin.
As of now, Samantha Irvin has not officially decided on her next course of action. Fans will have to see if she ends up in AEW alongside Ricochet down the line.
