The former RAW ring announcer had aspirations of becoming a manager or maybe even a general manager. However, the company allegedly didn't want her in those roles.

"I don’t like announcing, I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become a general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action, but I don’t love being an announcer,” wrote Samantha Irvin.

Samantha Irvin defends Ricochet

Many fans and pundits blamed Ricochet for Irvin's departure, as they felt she left the company to join her partner in AEW. Viewers believed being in different organizations was affecting the real-life couple's schedules.

Irvin recently defended Ricochet by replying to a comment that discussed the latter's WWE run. She revealed that the global juggernaut wanted to retain The Human Highlight Reel's services, but he left because he was not in a good position.

“Thank you so much, I love WWE, and I’m so proud and honored I got to share all the moments with fellow fans. Much love! Also, they wanted Rico to stay in the big leagues. I don’t know why everyone is pretending like he was always in great positions at WWE," Samantha Irvin wrote.

Furthermore, she responded to hate comments that suggested Ricochet was the reason behind her decision to quit WWE. She sarcastically replied that her partner was a millionaire now, and she didn't need to work anymore.
