Scott Hall was among the biggest names in the wrestling business in the 1990s and early 2000s. Vince Russo, a former WCW and WWE writer, recently reflected on his experiences working with the nWo member.

Hall, formerly known as Razor Ramon in WWE, wrestled for WCW between 1996 and 2000. In 1999, Russo left WWE to become WCW's co-head writer alongside Ed Ferrara.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing With Russo, Russo told host Dr. Chris Featherstone that Hall could sometimes be difficult to work with:

"Scott never made your job easy. He never made your job easy. He was just always scr*wing with you, you know what I mean? He never made your job [easy]. He was very, very, very hard to work with. You never knew what kind of a mood he was gonna be in. Was he gonna be in a good mood? Was he gonna be in a PO'd [p****d off] mood? He just wasn't an easy guy to work with. I mean, for me, anyway." In 2022, Scott Hall passed away at the age of 63 after suffering three heart attacks. Russo clarified that he had no issues with the two-time WWE Hall of Famer as a person. However, he was never sure what version of Hall he was dealing with:

"He's no longer with us," Russo said. "I'm not saying anything bad about him. You just never knew what you were gonna get. Let me put it to you that way. You just never knew what you were gonna get." [7:36 – 7:48]

Why Scott Hall never became a world champion

It was well publicized that Scott Hall battled alcoholism and drug issues during and after his wrestling career. His outside-the-ring troubles were even referenced as part of WCW storylines.

Vince Russo believes those problems prevented Hall from being considered a suitable world champion in WCW and WWE:

"You know the wrestling media and all that stuff. Bro, there's a reason for everything. There is a reason for everything. If you're wondering why this didn't happen or that didn't, there's always a reason for everything, bro." [9:14 – 9:29]

Hall held the Intercontinental Championship four times when he competed as Razor Ramon in WWE. He also won several titles in WCW, including the United States and World Television Championships.
