The 2024 WWE Draft commenced on the latest episode of SmackDown, and four superstars, including Seth Rollins and Jey Uso, were picked in the first round.
Other superstars will be drafted during the show and will continue on Monday Night RAW next week. WWE changed this year's edition, as champions were protected. This means that Cody Rhodes, A-Town Down Under, Bayley, and Logan Paul will remain on the blue brand, while the champions on RAW will stay on the red brand.
After AJ Styles and The American Nightmare had their contract-signing segment to make their title match at Backlash official, Triple H came out. He and Rhodes announced the picks for the first round of the WWE Draft. Cody announced that SmackDown selected Bianca Belair, making her the first overall pick in this year's draft.
Triple H announced that Jey Uso would remain on RAW. Cody Rhodes then announced that NXT Superstar Carmelo Hayes had been drafted to SmackDown, which means he has officially been called to the main roster.
The last pick of round one was Seth Rollins, who will remain on RAW. No one from round one switched brands besides Melo.
Are you excited that Melo is now on SmackDown?
