[Spoilers] Cody Rhodes collides with Carmelo Hayes on the Survivor Series go-home episode of WWE SmackDown

It was announced on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown that Cody Rhodes would go one-on-one with Carmelo Hayes on next week's episode of the blue brand. The match was taped after this week's show concluded and is set to air the night after Thanksgiving.

The two stars have only wrestled each other once before, and the match took place on the April 26, 2024, episode of SmackDown, which was the first night of the 2024 WWE Draft. The American Nightmare emerged victorious against Melo via pinfall.

On the blue brand this week, the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion was involved in a heated exchange with Kevin Owens. They were not in the ring together, but they still delivered a fiery promo. KO admitted that he hated Rhodes and called him out for teaming up with Roman Reigns, who tried to ruin his life and livelihood.

When Cody was heading backstage, Carmelo Hayes approached him and said that Kevin Owens made some valid points. Things turned physical and General Manager Nick Aldis had to intervene. That's how the match came about.
