Teddy Long was full of praise for WWE over how the company has handled a storyline heading into Saturday Night's Main Event, which will air on December 14. The veteran has said that a major title reign could end in Long Island.
On The Wrestling Time Machine, host Mac Davis asked wrestling legends Bill Apter and Teddy Long about a variety of topics, one of which was the main event for Saturday Night's Main Event. The iconic show is expected to be headlined by the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. This has been a top feud and has been building for months now.
The former SmackDown General Manager, Teddy Long, said that Kevin Owens could pull off an upset and dethrone Cody Rhodes to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. He praised the storytelling and believed that a title change would be huge for Saturday Night's Main Event going forward.
"Yes, I do, and the reason I believe that is because they [WWE] built it; they took their time with it; they started off with it right, and they didn't rush. Now they made it all the way to Saturday Night's Main Event. For Kevin [Owens] to take the title, it would be huge for SNME!" he said. [2:54-3:17]

Teddy Long had an interesting response to Jey Uso losing the Intercontinental Championship
It was shocking to see Jey Uso's first singles championship reign end in less than 30 days in October 2024. That said, it was used as a prop to further the Bloodline Civil War that boiled over at Crown Jewel and Survivor Series: WarGames.
In a previous episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long explained why he didn't think Jey Uso losing the Intercontinental Title was a mistake.
"I thought the match was great, and the way they took the title, like, it was believable. Because you take a guy, you do three or four things to him on the outside, you know what I mean? You pretty much got him tired out and beat up. So the way that they did that, Uso, he was beat up; he just couldn't take it no more [sic]. Then Breakker hits 'em with the big spear, and that's it!" he said. [3:52 onwards]
Jey Uso was recently taken out by Drew McIntyre on RAW, and it's going to be interesting to see what lies ahead for The YEET Master as the new year approaches.
