Another SmackDown is in the books, and Jade Cargill competed in a rare singles match and unsurprisingly emerged victorious. Dutch Mantell, however, felt Cargill was still green as a wrestler and shared his blunt observations on the latest Smack Talk episode.
Jade Cargill took on Alba Fyre on the blue brand this week and showed some resilience before landing her finisher, Jaded, for the win in a short match on SmackDown. Cargill has been with the WWE since September 2023, and the company has been patient in presenting the former AEW star due to her evident inexperience in the ring.
Following her latest singles bout, Dutch Mantell pointed out during Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk that Jade Cargill still needed more training as she seemed hesitant while performing. Cargill has been protected in a tag team with Bianca Belair, and while she has impressed fans, Dutch Mantell believed Jade's overall game required immense improvements.
"That girl still needs a lot of work. She still looks hesitant. I guess if it's not laid out in the planning, she looks great, but she looks lost. During the match, she doesn't know where to go, what to do, where to be. So, the other girl, Bianca, she has got it down. But Cargill, how long has she been in the business, two years? More?" New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Dutch Mantell said that Jade Cargill undeniably looked like a superstar, and in such a scenario, WWE is compelled to place her in a spot where she shines and is perceived as a big deal.
Mantell didn't doubt her presence, look, and charisma but stated that the 32-year-old needed more time to get comfortable wrestling on WWE TV.
"Okay, she is still learning, but she looks so good you just can't put her on the card; you've got to put her in a spot where she looks like a star, and she does. But her work rate is just not there yet. I mean, she does okay, but if you know what you're looking for, she needs more experience, and I don't know if she is going to get that or not. Hopefully, she does." [57:01 - 57:40]
Jade Cargill is still seemingly learning the ropes alongside the dependable Bianca Belair, and, as Dutch Mantell hopes, the former AEW TBS Champion will become a polished in-ring worker if given the time.
