"That's certainly one that I want to fix" - Major WWE star wants to settle scores with Gunther down the line

2024 has been a big year for Gunther in WWE, even though he lost the Intercontinental Championship. Recently, Drew McIntyre spoke highly of The Ring General and wants to settle the score with him in the near future.

Last year, Gunther feuded with Drew McIntyre from WrestleMania 39 to WWE SummerSlam 2023. The Ring General secured two victories over The Scottish Warrior as the Intercontinental Champion. It's been nearly a year, and the two stars haven't crossed paths inside the square circle since.

During an interview with WrestleManiac UK, the interviewer asked Drew McIntyre about potentially facing Gunther at this year's SummerSlam in Ohio. The Scottish Warrior addressed a potential rematch as he wants to settle scores after The Ring General got two wins over him.

"No, I feel good. Gunther is somebody who's been on fire and he's an incredible in-ring performer. He's one of the few people that I can count who have beaten Drew McIntyre clean one-on-one in the past four years (...) He's one of them. Technically, he crotched me off the top rope the first time but that's within the rules, and the second time, Sheamus and I got carried away and had a one-on-one match at WrestleMania [39] and we forgot about him and he sled in and stole the thing (...) That's certainly one that I want to fix and certainly someday that I owe one and it's a big match as well," McIntyre said. [From 02:27 to 03:06]

Gunther is ready to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2024

Earlier this year, Gunther's Intercontinental Title reign came to a screeching end when Sami Zayn pinned The Ring General and captured the gold at The Showcase of the Immortals in Philadelphia.

However, the star was down after the loss but not out of the game, as he bounced back on Monday Night RAW. The Ring General made it clear that he returned to win the King of the Ring tournament and did exactly that in Saudi Arabia.

The win also secured him a title shot for the World Heavyweight Championship come SummerSlam in Ohio. Whether it is Seth Rollins or Damian Priest, Gunther is ready to win the title at WWE's Biggest Party of the Summer.
