Former WWE head writer Vince Russo felt CM Punk exposed himself with his promo on the latest episode of RAW. The 45-year-old star kicked off Monday Night RAW this week with a promo segment.
Punk was in a serious mood this week on RAW as he delivered a promo on his opponent Drew McIntyre. The Straight Edge Superstar claimed that it was against his best interests to get into a Hell in a Cell match at this point in his career. However, he was ready to go to any lengths to finally finish off Drew and end this rivalry, even if it meant that his heart stopped inside the unforgiving structure.
While speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW podcast, Russo mentioned that CM Punk was in dangerous territory with his promo. He called out the Second City Saint's UFC career and said that the last time Punk was in a cage, he was beaten badly. The 63-year-old veteran stated that his mind immediately went to Punk's poor UFC outings when he spoke about getting "killed" inside Hell in a Cell.
"This is where you gotta be careful with this stuff. I'll tell you where my mind was going when he was cutting this promo. My mind was going, bro, every time you got in a UFC cage, it seemed like you were the one that was being killed, bro. I swear to God, my mind just went there, Chris. When you're talking about a cage and, you know, I'm gonna have to die and I'm kinda like, 'You almost kinda did when you were in UFC, bro.' That's where my mind went," Vince Russo said. [7:40 - 8:10]
