WWE Superstar John Cena recently discussed his final run before hanging up his boots at the end of 2025. The Cenation Leader has been the biggest face of the Stamford-based promotion for almost two decades.

Cena has now shifted his career to acting but still appears on WWE television from time to time. During the 2024 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, Cena made a surprise appearance to make a major announcement. He broke several hearts by revealing that he will retire from in-ring competition at the end of 2025.

During an interview on extratv for his upcoming movie, Jackpot, John Cena was asked about his final run in the Triple H-led promotion. The Cenation Leader said that his upcoming run would be fun and not bittersweet.

The 16-time World Champion also mentioned that he was grateful for his health because of which he will be able to perform inside the squared circle in 2025.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

"It's gonna be fun and not bittersweet for me. It's gonna be fun. I'm so grateful that I'm in a position where I still have my health and I'm able to carve out a large section of time and perform for a year from January until December. And give everyone also a heads up. A lot of times in WWE, sometimes injuries force retirement all of a sudden so one day you're there and the next day you're gone or sometimes you say you retire and it's part of the bit, like you want to attack somebody, and get a shot at the championship," he said.

John Cena also hyped up his final WWE run, asking fans around the world to get ready for the next calendar year.

"This is my way for an audience that has made me who I am after 22 to 23 years of investment to say, 'Hey I'm going to give you six months. That's your warning. And then in January, we're going on tour, and then in December I'm hanging them up.' So let's all get together, uh, at various spots around the world, next calendar year, and get loud and rowdy one more time," he added. [6:06 - 7:00]

"John Cena. He has never won the Intercontinental Championship before. So I say come take it from me. Come take the championship from me. Grow some balls, [and] come take the championship from me. Let’s go. Let’s do it."

It will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for John Cena's retirement tour.
