A WWE veteran has claimed that the Authors of Pain have major plans set for the future. He also gave a slight hint at those plans.
Paul Ellering has been instrumental in the growth of the Authors of Pain right from their early days in NXT. Under his guidance, the AOP dominated the tag team division in the white and gold brand and even won the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Their performances in NXT impressed the WWE higher-ups, and they were called up to the main roster, where they replicated their success by winning the RAW Tag Team Championship. They even aligned themselves with Seth Rollins during the latter's heel run in 2020. However, they were soon released from the promotion, but this wasn't the last fans saw of them.
AOP returned to WWE this year and aligned themselves with Karrion Kross. Since then, they have looked unstoppable in the ring and have destroyed the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley on more than one occasion.

During a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda's Senior Editor, Bill Apter, Paul Ellering was asked about the Authors of Pain's dream opponents. Ellering mentioned that they are looking to win the tag team titles, so it's everybody against them.
"Well, we got to get the belts, then it's everybody against us" [1:29 - 1:39]
Paul Ellering identifies main difference between Authors of Pain and Legion of Doom
Before managing the AOP, Paul Ellering made a name for himself in WWE by managing the legendary tag team Legion of Doom. The LOD were known for their aggression in the ring, much like the AOP.
While they are similar, Ellering pointed out one main difference between the two tag teams during the same interview with Bill Apter.
"I would say they [AOP] have more of an amateur background which helps a lot. They were both tremendous athletes. Akam was National Champion multiple times and was right on the Olympic process. Just a matter of going, and Rezar fought over 100 sports combat fights." [1:38 - 2:15]
It remains to be seen if the Authors of Pain will be able to capture the Tag Team Titles again.
