The Street Profits started the year by promising to win tag team gold. While initially distracted from this goal, they earned a tag title shot earlier this year but came up short. Another opportunity was presented when they competed in a Tag Team Championship Tournament last week. They faced off against A-Town Down Under and came out on top.
Tonight on the blue brand, they faced off against DIY in a number one contender's match. The determination to win this match was evident throughout the match. Even after DIY hit the Street Profits with their best shot, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa struggled to put them away. Angelo Dawkins especially showed a lot of heart and resiliency.

If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker. He would’ve also made that as Taker’s final match.
