If recent reports are to be believed, The Hurt Business could very well reunite outside WWE. During a recent discussion, EC3 proposed a grand plan for Bobby Lashley and MVP involving members in multiple promotions. Carter also suggested they recruit the giant Pretty Boy Smooth.
The latest on Lashley and MVP's statuses hint that they are on their way out of WWE. As expected, there is a lot of interest in rebooting The Hurt Business. The faction was a pivotal part of WWE's product a couple of years ago, enabling Bobby Lashley to become a World Champion.
The topic surrounding the Hurt Business was broken down on The Wrestling Outlaws, where EC3 urged his fellow panelists to think more creatively regarding the future of Bobby Lashley and MVP.
According to Carter, The Hurt Business can be a multi-promotional faction that has members in different companies:
"Let us think outside the box. MVP is super smart and super creative. Bobby is a stud. What if they created some entire movement or faction that incorporated individuals and independent stars in different companies, and they go from place to place?" [10:59 - 11:15]
In addition to being the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, EC3 also helms the company's territory system, NWA Exodus Pro Midwest. The six-foot-nine-inch Pretty Boy Smooth is the promotion's reigning champion, and EC3 believed he was one of the many promising talents the new Hurt Business could have in its ranks.
"Like, what if my champion in Exodus, Pretty Boy Smooth, was recruited by MVP, six-foot-nine? He is jacked, huge, super young, and a promising talent. Now, we're platforming other talents amidst the name we have created; that's the way I look at it." [11:16 - 11:35]
While EC3 is all in for The Hurt Business multiverse, the former WWE star has a warning for Bobby Lashley
The Hurt Business was a dominant faction in WWE during their prime, including Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. Benjamin is currently a free agent and could also join a reformed Hurt Business, something EC3 wasn't against.
Carter could see the group having tag team and singles matches and the immense potential in Bobby Lashley wrestling in different companies. However, when it came to the National Wrestling Alliance, EC3 warned Bobby that the world title was out of bounds:
"Then if Shelton's involved, that's cool, they can tag and they go in singles. As long as Bobby doesn't take my world title, I'm cool with all this!" [11:36 - 11:45]
While a Bobby Lashley vs. EC3 rematch is one of the many possibilities with The All Mighty seemingly leaving WWE, fans would be looking forward to many other dream matches.
