Bron Breakker called out John Cena after SummerSlam
At SummerSlam, Bron Breakker won the Intercontinental Championship to win his first title in the main roster. He defeated Sami Zayn in a rematch from Money in the Bank to win the gold, ending Zayn's reign after 119 days.
Speaking with SEScoops, Breakker was asked about the possibility of him defending the title against Cena. The 26-year-old invited the veteran to face him in a championship match. He said that the legend had never won the belt he now holds and threw down the gauntlet to the 47-year-old to come and claim his Intercontinental Championship.
"John Cena. He has never won the Intercontinental Championship before. So I say come take it from me. Come take the championship from me. Grow some ba**s, come take the championship from me. Let’s go. Let’s do it," he said.
Cena has held the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship, and even the Tag Team Championship. However, the veteran has never won the Intercontinental Title.
In 2025, John Cena could go after the one piece of gold that would make him a Grand Slam Champion. It remains to be seen what plans WWE has in store for the legend for his Farewell Tour.
