The Miz has been among WWE's top heel characters over the years. However, The A-Lister recently broke character to speak about his life with his family outside of the wrestling promotion.
In an interview with PEOPLE, the 44-year-old expressed his love for his daughters. The former WWE Champion stated he tries to establish a balance between his professional life and parenthood. He added for his kids, he is "Dad" and not WWE Superstar, The Miz.
"I love my kids to death. And I try to find that healthy balance of fulfilling our dreams — but also because we want to show our kids if you have a dream, go after it and do what you have to do. But you also have to be that parent and that dad. To them, I'm not The Miz. I'm Dad. And Dad doesn't get anything. It's funny though. When people will come to me and ask for a picture, they'll go, 'Is that because you're The Miz?' They're five and six, and they're already roasting me," he said. [H/T: PEOPLE]
The former Money in the Bank winner is currently feuding with The Wyatt Sicks. The mysterious group targeted him after he turned his back on his then-tag team partner, R-Truth. However, he has found support from The Final Testament in his battle against the mysterious faction on RAW.
The Miz explains the reason behind his most recent heel turn
After a successful run with R-Truth, which saw the duo win the World Tag Team Championship, The Miz betrayed the 52-year-old and sided with The Final Testament after losing the gold to Finn Balor and JD McDonagh.
During his appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, the former eight-time WWE Intercontinental Champion claimed he was a good person and did everything right. He stated R-Truth was the heel the whole time and put him through so much. The Awesome One added he turned on the 52-year-old to make him realize his mistakes.
"I feel like I'm a good guy. I've done everything right. R-Truth is the one that has been the heel the whole time, in my opinion. You don't believe me? The guy has put me through so much. So much. And then sometimes you just need to turn on someone to make them realize the error in their ways," he said. [From 15:56 to 16:13]
