The Miz took to social media today to share an emotional announcement with his fans. The WWE star is taking a momentous step next week.
The A-Lister has been a part of WWE for a long time now, having arrived in the company when he auditioned for Tough Enough and immediately made an impression. He reached the final round and secured the second spot. The 43-year-old signed a developmental contract with the promotion.
Since 2004, he has become one of the most consistent names in the company. Winning multiple titles, he has done it all in the global juggernaut.
Now, next week, the company will be airing an A&E Biography episode for WWE Legends: The Miz. This officially cements his place as a legend of the company and is the first time that the promotion has so clearly recognized it, changing his status. Ahead of the documentary airing, he made an emotional post on social media.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The former Intercontinental Champion talked about how he was underrated when he first arrived and was under immense pressure, but he never quit in circumstances where others would have chosen to walk away.
"Day 1: underrated, underappreciated, and up against an immense amount of pressure and an overwhelmingly loud population of peers and public thinking I can’t do it and don’t belong. 6,521 days later and there were many days most would have quit. But when the pressure is at its highest it’s when I thrive. Quitting wasn’t an option. To have pushed thru to receive not only acknowledgment from A&E as a legend but to have the support of my peers makes it all worth it. Less than one week until A&E Biography WWE Legends: The Miz."
The Miz recently lost his tag team title
The Miz was one-half of the World Tag Team Champions until recently with R-Truth. Unfortunately, the two were lured into giving The Judgment Day a title shot by Liv Morgan.
Thanks to Morgan's interference, JD McDonagh and Finn Balor were able to walk away as World Tag Team Champions on a recent edition of RAW.
Currently, The A-Lister is still in a tag team with R-Truth, although it's not certain what they will do next. They are set to team up with Braun Strowman to face The Judgment Day again tomorrow.
