The New Day shocked the WWE Universe on Monday Night RAW when Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turned on Big E and removed him from the faction. Recently, Aiden English reacted to the segment and predicted a major swerve in the group's storyline.
Over the past few months, The New Day's Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were at each other's throats, constantly arguing and bickering. Many expected one to turn on the other, but they both betrayed Big E, who returned on Monday Night RAW to celebrate their journeys.
On Rebooked Wrestling, Aiden English (aka Matthew Rehwoldt) reacted to the heartbreaking segment from RAW. The former WWE star added this could be a major swerve in the making, and The New Day could turn face in the future if Big E could use the power of positivity against the duo instead of attacking them.
"If he [Big E] can come back, even if they're [The New Day] heels, they bite off more than they can chew. I think a Big E 'Don't you dare be sour' line months down the line when they're in trouble (...) I think that will turn their hearts from the stone and melt the ice around them. I think the power of positivity; his love is so strong, he's going to win them over with love. He's not going to be the babyface beating them up," English said. (From 51:10 onwards)
The New Day hasn't won a title on WWE's main roster since Big E's hiatus
In 2022, Big E suffered a broken neck due to a freaky botch at ringside during a tag team match on SmackDown. The Powerhouse of Positivity has been away from in-ring action since getting hurt.
In E's absence, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods captured the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship in December 2022. Unfortunately, the two haven't had the same amount of success on the main roster without the former WWE Champion.
The New Day hasn't captured a singles or tag team title in the Stamford-based promotion's main roster since 2021. The heel turn can lead to some success in the coming weeks or months. Regardless, it'll be interesting to see what the two will do next on WWE RAW.
