The Rock made a surprise appearance before the end of WWE Bad Blood, staring down Cody Rhodes, Jimmy Uso, and Roman Reigns. Former WWE manager Jim Cornette took a shot at The Final Boss while criticizing the ending segment.
The OTC and The American Nightmare were aided by the returning Jimmy Uso to overcome Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in the main event of the PLE in Atlanta, Georgia. The reunited Uso and Reigns would later aid the Undisputed WWE Championship to fend off the rest of The Bloodline.
Once the ring cleared and the three babyfaces were left standing before The Rock's music hit the crowd erupted. The People's Champion didn't speak and the show ended with him making a gesture toward the trio of stars in the ring.
On the latest episode of The Jim Cornette Experience, the longtime wrestling veteran took a subtle shot at Rock for carrying The People's Championship. He also sarcastically mocked the staring contest between The Great One, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns.
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
"The crowd went batsh*t and it's The Rock with The People's Champion belt that he got from Muhammad Ali's widow at a yard sale. The Rock stared at the babyfaces and the babyfaces stared at The Rock and the babyfaces stared at each other, staring at The Rock and The Rock stared at the people staring at him, staring at the babyfaces and The Rock left," Cornette said. Cornette's co-host also suggested that The Rock's return could be a sign that he's ready for WrestleMania season. It's only a matter of who will he be facing next year: Roman Reigns or Cody Rhodes.
Update on potential plans for The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Backstage Pass for a Q&A, WrestleVotes provided an update on the plans for The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes at next year's WrestleMania. While plans are always subject to change, a triple threat match is reportedly "on the table."
"My thought is it signifies that's where we're going for WrestleMania. 1-2-3 as in triple threat match. Yeah, I can tell you that's on the table. I don't know for sure if it's been finalized in any way. It's October 8. I doubt it's been finalized, but that idea has been floated and I think it makes the most sense for the company to get those three guys in the ring," WrestleVotes stared.
WrestleMania 41 will be held in Las Vegas next year and there are plenty of rumors about potential matchups for both nights on April 19 and 20.
