The Rock's daughter Ava makes massive WWE announcement; Star's absence questioned after contract expiry rumors

The Rock's daughter Ava made a massive WWE announcement on NXT today. A veteran star's absence was questioned during a backstage segment after contract expiry rumors.

Natalya is one of the greatest female stars in WWE. She has accomplished pretty much everything there is to do in the company. Now, she is at the tail end of her career, and she has been spending time mentoring some of the younger talent. A few months ago, Nattie mentored Tegan Nox, and in recent weeks, she took Karmen Petrovic under her wings on NXT.

Tonight on WWE NXT, Karmen was backstage with Arianna Grace when Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx walked in and made fun of them.

This set up a match between Karmen and Nyx. However, Jacy Jayne interfered during the bout, allowing Nyx to pick up the win. Following the match, Karmen entered NXT General Manager Ava's office and demanded a match against them.

Ava said someone had already met her regarding a tag match at Heatwave. Karmen initially thought it was Natalya and was relieved. However, Arianna Grace walked in and indicated that they would be teaming up against Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jayne. The Rock's daughter then made the match official for the Heatwave pre-show.

It will be interesting to see if Karmen Petrovic can win without Natalya in her corner at Heatwave.
