A top star is ready to finally return to WWE at the Royal Rumble. This is a comeback that the fans have been waiting for quite a while. Unfortunately, it seems that he's yet to be made an offer.

Matt Cardona has made his name outside WWE since his release, easily becoming the hottest indie star, working in GCW and in other promotions. The star spoke to Ariel Helwani recently, where he declared that he was ready to return at the Royal Rumble.

He said that if his music hit at the event, be it as Zack Ryder or Cardona, then the place would actually explode and the roof would come off the place. He said that he had earned the opportunity and was sure of moving merchandise as well.

“I don’t I think I deserve anything…but I think I have earned the opportunity to go back. I don’t think it’s cocky to say that if my music hit at the Royal Rumble, whether it be Zack Ryder or Matt Cardona, the place would explode, the roof would come off the place, social media would explode, I would move merch, I know that," Cardona said.

Unfortunately, he added that he had not been offered anything from the Stamford-based company.

The star added that he would love to be in the company with his wife, the new Women's United States Champion, Chelsea Green. He said that he knew he belonged there.

“I would love to be [in WWE] with [Chelsea]. Whether we’re on camera or not, I think we’re better together. I want to be there not just because she’s there, but because I belong there. I know I belong there,” he added. [H/T: F4WOnline]

Matt Cardona has not been offered an AEW contract, despite reports - ready to work there as well as WWE

Speaking in the interview, Cardona said that despite reports he'd been made an AEW contract offer, that was not true. He said he'd enjoyed working there as well.

The star made it clear that he was open to working both in WWE and AEW.

With the Royal Rumble just over two weeks away, fans will be waiting to see if he returns to the company at the event. For the moment, it seems unlikely.
