WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker played a key role in the career of Roman Reigns. Despite the legendary star's attempt to put over Reigns, the WWE Universe initially did not accept him as the company's top babyface.

Following his WrestleMania win over The Last Outlaw in 2017, it took the Samoan another three years to cement his place in the company with the approval of fans. Reigns gained popularity after he associated himself with Paul Heyman. The Undertaker believes Heyman's masterstroke with The Tribal Chief storyline on SmackDown in the last four years needs a lot of credit.

On the latest episode of his podcast, Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Phenom, co-host Matt Lyda and former SmackDown general manager Teddy Long discussed ringside managers in WWE. When The Wiseman's name was brought up, 'Taker noted that the veteran massively helped enhance Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns' characters.

"It's an incredible run, but Paul [Heyman] deserves his flowers," The Undertaker said. "Roman [Reigns] deserves his as well. Roman has come light years from where he was at—he was already in a good spot, but he came light years, and I think there is a lot of that that he can take credit for, but Paul needs his credit." Interestingly, early on in his career, The Undertaker was managed by Paul Heyman. The two were once signed to WCW, where The Deadman wrestled under the ring name "Mean" Mark Callous.

Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman reunited recently on WWE SmackDown

On SmackDown a week ago, Paul Heyman returned to assist Roman Reigns. The Wiseman called in a favor for Reigns in the form of CM Punk. The Best in the World joined Heyman on SmackDown during the latter's return as he took the fifth spot of the OTC's WarGames team at Survivor Series.

At the event this past Saturday, Roman Reigns and Punk set aside their differences with The Wiseman's advice and worked together. The OG Bloodline ultimately defeated The Bloodline in a WarGames match.

CM Punk's addition to the equation has led many fans to speculate what the end game of the program is. WWE's creative team sowed the seeds for what looks to be a major angle down the line when The Best in The World reminded Paul Heyman that he would ask the latter to repay the favor when the time was right.
