WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker recently opened up about his extremely nervous moment while pitching an idea to Vince McMahon. The Phenom started his career with the Stamford-based promotion in 1990 and went on to become one of the greatest wrestlers in the history of professional wrestling.

The 59-year-old had some of the best characters ever in pro wrestling. He was mostly known for his 'Deadman' gimmick. However, The Undertaker debuted another popular character, The American Bada**, in 2000, which showcased a different side of The Phenom.

During an edition of the Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway podcast, Taker talked about pitching the idea of his American Bada** character to his former boss, Vince McMahon.

The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he was extremely nervous before pitching the idea to Vince, as he thought McMahon wouldn't approve it.

"That was probably what I was most nervous about. Not the night that I’d debut it, but actually telling Vince, 'What do you think about this?' I was totally expecting him to go, 'There’s no damn way; you’ll be fine; scr*w all those guys talking and cutting those great promos!' That's what I'm expecting," he said. [0:02-0:44]

The former World Heavyweight Champion added that, much to his surprise, Vince McMahon loved the idea.

"I have a meeting with him, and it’s like, 'Boss, this is what I’m thinking!' And I explained my reasoning for it, and it was like, ‘God da*n, that’s good; that’s great!’ I’m thinking it’s a rib, like here comes the punchline; he’s about to pull the rug right out from underneath me," he added. The Undertaker said he wanted to evolve his character in WWE

The Deadman formed The Ministry of Darkness in 1998, which included Edge, Christian, Bradshaw, Ron Simmons, Mideon, Viscera, and Gangrel, with Paul Bearer as the manager.

In the same episode of the podcast, The Phenom opened up about his stint as the leader of The Ministry of Darkness. The legendary wrestler said he wanted to make his character darker to ensure fans didn't lose interest in his gimmick.

"When you've been on TV for so long, you always run that chance of burnout and wash out and losing interest, so I wanted to take the character even darker, even darker than where it had already been, but in an even more sinister kind of way. I wanted to use lots of imagery and symbolism and just really push the envelope to what was going to make people feel uncomfortable. That was my goal—to continue to evolve the character," The Undertaker said.

The veteran will be in Cleveland for the UNDERTAKER 1 deadMAN Show during the SummerSlam weekend. It will be interesting to see if he shows up at The Biggest Party of The Summer.
