The Undertaker recently spoke about a massive WWE star. This star hasn't been seen on TV in a while. This was The Nigerian Giant, Omos.
The Undertaker is the latest to comment on Omos. 'Taker has had a legendary career in the WWE. He wrestled for the promotion for several years and was often considered the gatekeeper in the Stamford-based promotion. He was the most respected and feared man in the entire locker room.
Given his career achievements, it should come as no surprise that people respected 'Taker in the locker room. Since The Deadman retired from the ring, there has been speculation as to who can take on a similar role.
Speaking on his Patreon Q&A, The Undertaker picked Omos to play the role of a gatekeeper who can be used sparingly like a special attraction.

"Obviously, now we’ve had several discussions. The fact that they are using him judiciously instead of just being out there, I’m excited. I think he becomes, at some point, I believe he becomes like the guardian of the castle, basically like I used to be. Anybody, any giant monster, anybody that ever came down the pike, I always got them. It was because I was an attraction, and I kept the castle clean."
He continued:
"I didn’t get as many world title opportunities and all that. But you knew, if there was a threat to the kingdom, they knew who they were gonna, they were gonna - and I feel eventually that’s gonna be his role. He will be the one that decides who comes and who goes in a storytelling aspect. I just hope that we get some guys coming down the road that actually can pose a physical threat to you." Omos has only had two televised matches in WWE in 2024
Although The Undertaker feels that Omos could follow in his footsteps in WWE, it doesn't look like the WWE management feels that way. After Omos' successful pairing with AJ Styles ended, he was paired alongside MVP.
During this time, he was involved in a feud with Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. However, he was soon removed from television in late 2023. In fact, in 2024, The Nigerian Giant has only competed in two televised matches - one in the Andre the Giant Battle Royale which took place on SmackDown during the WrestleMania weekend and the other match was the Royal Rumble match.
Omos has not even appeared at house shows since his Andre the Giant Battle Royale match in April.
While he has received a massive push on television in the past, his recent booking is quite concerning for his fans.
