The Undertaker says legendary title means something again thanks to WWE star

The Undertaker held several titles during his iconic career, including the WWE Championship four times and the World Heavyweight Championship three times. In a recent podcast episode, The Deadman praised CCO, Triple H, and Gunther for his work as the Intercontinental Champion over the last two years.

Gunther held the title for 666 days between June 2022 and April 2024. The Austrian's record-setting reign ended against Sami Zayn on the first night of WrestleMania XL.

On Six Feet Under w/Mark Calaway podcast, The Undertaker highlighted how WWE's creative figurehead Paul Levesque (aka Triple H) had restored pride to the Intercontinental Championship. He also had positive words to say about Gunther's time as the title holder.

"I think Paul's going to [create more stories like] the run that Gunther had with the IC belt," The Undertaker said, referencing how WWE titles are becoming important. "None of those belts really meant anything until Gunther had it and now it means something again." [43:15 – 43:27]

Gunther competed in several classic matches as Intercontinental Champion, most notably against Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. Shortly after losing the title, The Ring General won the 2024 King of the Ring Tournament.

As a result of his tournament victory, Gunther will challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam on August 3.

The Undertaker's close friend on Logan Paul's WWE United States Championship reign

After praising Gunther's Intercontinental Championship tenure, The Undertaker moved the conversation on to Logan Paul's run with the United States Championship.

Dennis Knight, better known to WWE fans as - Mideon, was a guest on the latest episode of The Undertaker's podcast. While The Deadman did not elaborate much on his view of Paul, Knight made it clear he is a fan of the United States Champion:

"His third match was against Roman [Reigns] for the belt, you know?" Knight said. "He's doing fantastic and he's bringing a lot of eyes to the product, which is the bottom line because I said so, but I don't know the man, but from the people that I do know he seems okay." [44:17 – 44:35]

On July 6, Sami Zayn will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Bron Breakker at Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. Paul is not currently scheduled to compete at the PLE.
