The Undertaker witnessed dozens of changes to WWE's on-screen presentation during his 30 years as an in-ring performer with the company. In a recent podcast episode, The Deadman recalled how the term "foreign object" was once banned.

In wrestling, a foreign object is used to describe an illegal weapon. For example, if a wrestler attacked an opponent with a steel chair during a regular match, a commentator might refer to the chair as a "foreign object."

On Six Feet Under w/Mark Calaway, The Undertaker said a company memo stated that the term was "offensive" and not allowed to be used:

"I used to get into Abdullah [the Butcher] bringing out a fork, those kinda things. You would use the 'foreign object,' right? A directive came down once that we couldn't use the word 'foreign object' because it was offensive. It had to become an international object. I kid you not, I kid you not, that's a true story. Couldn't use foreign object because it was offensive." [43:26 – 43:52]

The Phenom also reflected on when he initially refused to participate in a risky Chokeslam spot after a WWE opponent pitched him the idea.

The Undertaker on the use of "foreign objects" in wrestling today

Former WWE star, Mideon, was a guest on the latest episode of Six Feet Under w/Mark Calaway. They addressed the topic of wrestlers using painful weapons to entertain a small section of fans at independent events.

In The Undertaker's opinion, wrestlers should not risk suffering injuries in matches unless the paycheck is worth the risk:

"There'll be eight fluorescent bulbs on a thing in front of 10 or 15 people and they're doing all this over-the-top stuff that they can't be [getting paid enough for]. I understand the business is more than about money, but there has to be something. I don't know what the story is. All I'm seeing is there's not enough people in that audience to generate enough money for them to get me to take something that ridiculous." [45:29 – 46:14]

The Hall of Famer also gave his thoughts on WWE's higher-ups sending an AEW star down to developmental earlier in his career.
